How To Help

  • Yale-China needs your help! Make a contribution to help keep Yale-China going. Even a small gift ensures that our work in health, education and arts carries on through this difficult period. We are so grateful to those who have made gifts through Yale-China in recent weeks to support our Chinese colleagues and to strengthen medical, nursing and public health services in China. Yale-China’s Pettus Fund for Health Programs funds collaborations and capacity building that will be even more important once the current emergency has passed. Learn more about the Pettus Fund on our Special Funds page.

  • Share the anti-discrimination video “Don’t Let Fear Be Contagious” created by a team of Chinese and American Yale scholars and alumni, including Yale-China’s Senior Health Program Officer Jessica Hahne, to promote a message of cooperation and informed precaution, rather than fear. The video was created in February, but discrimination against Asians and Asian-Americans has not diminished. Circulate this video to amplify the message: Fight the virus, not each other.

  • Reach Out to a Friend. We encourage American and Chinese friends and professional colleagues to communicate and share experiences, check in on each other, support and provide help. This is a moment to find opportunities at the people-to-people level to assist each other and lighten the hardships however we can.

Please note these recommendations are up-to-date as of February 11, 2020, but we recommend continuing to monitor CDC and WHO updates for the most current information. Elements of Springtime in the video’s final image are meant to represent hope, which is intended as the video’s central message.
