Yale-China is a connection across nations, generations, languages, disciplines. It is a network of support, strengthened by personal relationships, like the beams of a traditional Chinese woven bridge.

A Refreshed Look at Yale-China

Think of Yale-China as a bridge:

A welcoming community that has woven together the lives of Chinese and American people for 120 years. A bridge that continues to transform hundreds of thousands of individuals through immersion, friendships, insight, partnership and strategic professional training. That bridges the divides of culture, language, politics and distrust—as few other organizations today can do.

Why are we changing and growing?

Because this moment of crisis in US-China relations demands a strong and positive bridge

Because China’s new dynamism challenges us all to innovate in a rapidly changing environment

Because Yale-China has an extraordinary platform with which to improve lives and shape relations between our two societies

The new visual identity is designed to represent the active, reciprocal mission of Yale-China, rooted in the organization’s century-long history while appealing to future generations.

Our New Mission

Yale-China (雅礼协会) bridges American and Chinese cultures by creating lasting, transformative partnerships and experiences in education, health, and the arts.

Our New Visual Identity

Inspired by the traditional Chinese woven bridge and by the colors of Chinese traditional seals, Yale-China’s rebrand focuses on its welcoming community that has woven together the lives of Chinese and American people for almost twelve decades.

Our rebranding was led by Atelier Cho Thompson, a New Haven and San Francisco-based design firm headed by Ming Thompson, a former Yale-China Fellow and Trustee.

New Website

This new website, which is mobile responsive and image-optimized, expresses our ambitious goals and refreshes our message to get more people inspired by and involved in Yale-China’s work.

New Initiatives

New and redesigned programming strengthens our role as a bridge, develops knowledgeable global citizens in both countries, and works increasingly to help underserved people

Yale-China is working on new initiatives with partners to support left-behind children and elderly, rural populations lacking adequate health care and education opportunities, families with children on the autism spectrum, and others through pilot programs in Western Hunan.

Our New Magazine

Yale-China Bridge succeeds our long-running magazine Yale-China Review as this community’s new magazine in print and online formats. Thank you to Atelier Cho Thompson for our new forward-looking publication.
