ARTS INTERN OPPORTUNITY

Intern Summary
The Yale-China Association is offering an internship for a Yale professional, graduate, or undergraduate student from September 2018 to May 2019. The Yale-China Intern for the Arts will assist in 3 major arts projects under the supervision of Yale-China’s arts staff:
1. Yale-China Arts Fellowship
2. Lunarfest 2019
3. History exhibit
This internship is paid (up to $15/hour) based on a 4-hour per week schedule during the academic year.

Responsibilities
Curate Yale-China history exhibit
Produce Yale-China Arts Fellows’ workshops in residential colleges
Assist with event management for Lunarfest 2019
Work alongside partners Council on East Asian Studies at Yale, the New Haven Museum, City of New Haven, and Arts Council of Greater New Haven
Work on general online outreach and promotion using Facebook and Instagram
Additional tasks as needed

Qualifications
Interest in art, history of art, music, dance, architecture, film, theater, community, service, culture, or related fields
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to work well independently as well as collaborate with a team
Intermediate knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and/or similar platforms

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and video editing software
Knowledge of HTML
Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese language

PUBLICITY AND RECRUITMENT INTERN OPPORTUNITY

Intern Summary
Yale-China Association is seeking a highly motivated Yale College sophomore, junior, or senior from September 2018 to May 2019 for 4-6 hours per week during the regular academic calendar as the Publicity and Recruitment Intern. Under the supervision and training of the administrative staff the intern will assist in managing the publicity and recruitment strategic plan for the organization. Note this internship offers a $500 stipend.

Responsibilities
Create materials for online outreach and promotion of Yale-China student opportunities using Facebook and Instagram
Create and execute a marketing campaign for the Yale-China Fellowship specifically
Assist with publicity and marketing for Lunarfest 2019
Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks
Social media optimization
Update website as requested
Additional tasks as needed

Required Qualifications
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Knowledge of social media and trending technology platforms
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and multi-task
Intermediate knowledge of HTML, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and/or similar platforms

Experience with Publisher, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese language
