On April 8, 2020, Yale-China and Yale Law School Paul Tsai China Center jointly organized an online Central South University-Yale Discussion on COVID-19 Response. Seven experts from Xiangya School of Medicine and Public Health, Xiangya Hospital, and Xiangya Second Hospital shared their valuable expertise and experience in fighting COVID-19 with healthcare professionals from Yale and elsewhere. The event was a great success because it gave both sides opportunities to exchange ideas and facilitate mutual learning.

In an email from Xiangya School of Medicine Deputy Dean Xiaochuang Wu to one of the event organizers, Yale-China Health Director Junya Zhu, PhD, said “We are very happy that Xiangya's experience could be shared by the experts at Yale and elsewhere. We value the opportunity of exchanging ideas with them which provide us a chance to learn from each other. We also want to express our sincere thanks to Yale China Association. With your help, the experts of both sides could stand closely together to face the challenge.”
