Counter the Story

Counter the Story

There is something YOU can do to counter the dark news stories. We want to hear stories from Yale-China alumni that shed light on your experiences in China and Hong Kong, whether as a teaching fellow, health fellow, arts fellow, board member, or other participant.

请告诉我们更多的故事!

StoryCorps (whose mission is “to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world”) has collected hundreds of thousands of American stories, each one archived in the Library of Congress.

Anyone can participate in Counter the Story! We want to hear stories from Yale-China alumni that shed light on your experiences in China and Hong Kong, whether as a teaching fellow, health fellow, arts fellow, board member, or other participant.

If you are hosting one of Yale-China’s March of 100 dinners, we will make available a current or recent program participant who will share stories in person with your guests to get the conversation going. Your “Counter The Story” dinner can also play sample recorded stories to set the stage, and you will have instructions to make it easy for your guests to record their own stories.

To record your story with Yale-China, please contact Michele Crowley at michele.crowley@yale.edu.
