孟克文(Christian F. Murck) , 主席

孟克文(Christian Murck)是摩根大通集团中国有限公司(J.P. Morgan Chase (China) Co. Ltd)的中国地区顾问和独立总监。2013年6月退休,时任中国美国商会会长。之后居住纽约。1965年,他作为雅礼教员派驻香港中文大学,这是他的亚洲工作经历之始。

Chris于2010至2013年间任中国美国商会(American Chamber of Commerce)会长。在此之前,他也是2002年和2003年的理事会主席。在长达17年的时间里,他一直是中国美国商会里的活跃成员,积极在北京及华盛顿为美国企业界发言。他还担任过台北美国商会1995年和1996年的理事会主席,是唯一一位担任过海峡两岸的美国商会会长职位的人。

从2001年至2010年3月,Chris在安可顾问(APCO Worldwide)先后担任亚洲地区副主席、亚洲地区执行总裁及常务董事,就中国和泛亚太区域的政府关系、公众事务和企业传媒领域为客户提供咨询。

在加盟安可顾问之前,他于1996年到2001年间担任大通曼哈顿银行(The Chase Manhattan Bank)驻京常务董事与高级主管,1991年至1996年间管理纽约化学银行(Chemical Bank)台北分行,1980年到1991年在纽约汉华信托银行(Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company)国际部工作,负责管理澳大利亚、日本和中国的团队。

从1978年到1980年间,Chris是哥伦比亚大学人文研究项目的研究员。他在普林斯顿大学东亚系获得博士学位,于1973-1975年间在东京大学做博士论文调研。他1965年从耶鲁本科毕业,曾任雅礼协会主席。

Ping Liang拥有美国银行业、咨询业、投资和贸易行业三十多年的从业经验,曾在亚洲、欧洲和北美从事国际贸易二十余年。她在大中国地区工作过十多年。Liang女士担任过波士顿银行、老肯特金融公司(Old Kent Financial Corporation)与五三银行 主管,在波士顿、伦敦、密歇根州及亚洲多个城市工作过。她曾任博雅公关(Burson Marsteller)大中国地区金融服务部主管,帮助国有企业成功上市及私募国际资金。此外,她还是美国里姆斯资产管理公司(Reams Asset Management Company)的投资专家,负责养老金在国际股票和定息债券市场上的投资。1991年,她被马萨诸塞州州长William Weld任命为麻省及麻省港务局代表,以促进新英格兰和亚洲之间的双向贸易投资往来。

Liang女士是艾尔法麦克斯顾问有限公司(AlphaMax Advisors LLC)的创始人及总经理,该咨询公司为开拓中国业务的美国中小型资产公司的主管人员提供战略和企业发展方面的建议,同时也为投资美国的中国企业提供咨询。艾尔法麦克斯与剑平国际集团(JPI Group)旗下的剑平战略公司(JPIStrategies)以50:50的股权比例联合经营,在北京和上海设有代表处。艾尔法麦克斯还帮助西密歇根地区的地区经济发展机构寻求、吸引和招募中国公司投资西密歇根地区。

Liang女士是惠誉专业培训公司(Fitch Training)的培训师,负责为中国银行及其他金融机构提供公司信用与金融培训,向国有企业领导人讲授资本市场与现代融资管理,帮助其企业准备上市及私募国际资金工作。

Liang女士是亨廷顿银行(Huntington Bank)女性职员顾问委员会成员,并任数家非盈利机构的董事。她在密歇根州大急流城(Grand Rapids)经济俱乐部、腓烈德里克美耶花园和雕塑公园(Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park)与大急流城/肯特县会议及旅游局(Grand Rapids/Kent County Convention & Visitors Bureau)担任董事,在圣塞西里亚音乐中心(St. Cecilia Music Center)与西密歇根州国际事务委员会担任董事长。Liang女士是雅礼协会的理事,也是耶鲁大学管理学院伯格奖学金(Berg scholarship)委员会成员。

Ann B. Williams, 秘书长

Ann Bartley Williams,注册护士、教育学博士、加州大学洛杉矶分校(UCLA)护士学校的教授和主管学术研究的副院长。在加入UCLA之前,Williams博士是耶鲁大学的护理和医学教授。在1991到2010年间,她领导管理康州艾滋病教育和培训中心。她也是中国湖南长沙中南大学湘雅医学院的客座教授及护理专业教师。

作为一名护士,Williams博士在美国及海外护理艾滋病病人长达三十多年。她的研究课题直接来自她的护理经历。她设计并实行了最早几例在吸毒者身上做的艾滋病研究。她的研究涉及如何降低HIV的传播、改善对女性艾滋病病毒携带者的妇科护理以及如何提高病人对抗逆转录药物治疗的依从性。目前她正在负责一个“爱生诺”合作项目,研究中国的艾滋病患者/艾滋病毒携带者的依从性。该项目的研究成果将帮助我们更好地了解抗逆转录病毒疗法(ART)依从性的相关因素、如何医疗干预来提高依从性、以及对ART产生抗药性的原因。这些成果将有助于全球范围内的艾滋病治疗。

Douglas M. Ferguson (Doug), 耶鲁1979届毕业生,于1979至1981年间在香港中文大学(CUHK)担任雅礼教员。他的特殊地区专业(非洲政治经济)使得他对雅礼产生了兴趣。而他对教书的热情是在他参与Ulysses S. Grant基金会组织的纽黑文中学生课后教育项目时培养出来的。

在CUHK时,Ferguson先生认识了在当地出生的英语老师兼同事Salina Wong King-Ping。他们在1982年结为伉俪,之后不久返回美国读研。研究生毕业后(他获得Fletcher法律外交学院硕士学位)他们搬到纽约,他从事管理咨询和商业银行业务。1990年搬回波士顿居住至今,他担任软件行业的各种管理职位及上市公司的董事会成员。

Ferguson先生现任合益集团的高级客户合伙人,致力于帮助公司和非盈利机构提高其组织效率。Ferguson夫妇育有两子,一位就读耶鲁本科,明年毕业,另一位在首都华盛顿从事国际性工作。这是Ferguson先生第三次担任雅礼协会的理事。

Lina Ayenew
Founder and Author, Dalu: Introduction to Chinese for Amharic Speakers, Beijing, China

Lina Getachew Ayenew is an independent consultant and author focused on China-Africa relations.

After receiving her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Yale University, she moved to China to teach at Xiangya Medical School through the Yale-China Teaching Fellowship. Following a corporate stint at a PR firm in Beijing, she began her efforts to closely study the influence of the Asian giant in her homeland, Ethiopia. She recently founded Dalu Media, and launched the first course in the world that teaches introductory Mandarin Chinese to Amharic speakers. Amharic is Lina’s native language and also the official language of Ethiopia, a country of 100 million people. Chinese companies in Ethiopia have been utilizing this course (book + audio) as the main tool to give basic language training to their employees in Ethiopia.

She has also been working with the Ethiopian Tourism Organization (a government entity) to define Ethiopia’s tourism brand and promote it in China.

“Mega-Themes in Africa-China Relations” is Lina’s annual publication, now in its third year, where she chronicles and analyzes major developments in Africa-China relations.

 

Joan Channick

Joan Channick is the Associate Dean and a Professor (Adjunct) of Theater Management at Yale School of Drama. Pei-Yuan Chia

Mr. Chia retired in 1996 as Vice Chairman and a Director of Citicorp and Citibank, N.A., where he had been responsible for global consumer business and was Citibank’s senior customer and government contact for Asia-Pacific region. He began his Citibank career in 1974 in the Consumer Services Group after nine years of brand management and marketing experience with General Foods Corporation.

He is currently Chairman of the Chia Family Foundation, Inc., a Trustee Emeritus of the Asia Society, and a Trustee of the Hoag Hospital Foundation.

Mr. Chia was a director of American International Group, Inc. (1997-2007), Baxter International, Inc. (1996-2005), Singapore Airlines (2004-2009), Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd., and Case Corporation; and was a trustee of the NYU Hospital Center Board, Asia Society, as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Rockefeller University. Mr. Chia is a Senior Fellow of the SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. He is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America.

Born in Hong Kong on January 27th, 1939, Mr. Chia was raised in China and Taiwan. He earned his BA degree in Economics from Tunghai University in Taiwan in 1961 and his MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1965, and an Honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Tunghai University in 2007.

 

Deborah S. Davis

Deborah S. Davis(波士顿大学1979届博士)是耶鲁大学社会学教授,研究方向为历史和比较社会学、社会不平等 与阶层分化、当代中国社会及实地调查方法。除了在耶鲁授课以外,她还主持耶鲁学生与中国大陆及香港学生交流合作的夏季实地考察研讨班,主题包括儿童消费方式的演变、隐私观念与产权观念的转变、香港与上海新老住宅区里公共区域的使用、通过住户与村级资源之间的互动关系 预测云南郊区学校出勤率等等。

Davis是中美关系国家委员会成员,曾在2004年参与创办耶鲁中国医学杂志。她先后担任过耶鲁国际化研究中心学术项目主任、社会学系主任、东亚研究中心主任、东亚系和社会学系研究生院主任、耶鲁出版社出版委员会成员、女教员论坛联席主席及社科类终身教职评审委员会成员。

Sheila Levrant de Bretteville is the first tenured woman at the Yale University School of Art where she is the Caroline M. Street Professor, a title she accepted because city streets are where her site specific installations have taken place, among them are: Biddy Mason: Time & Place in downtown Los Angeles, Omoide noShotokyo in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo; Search: Literature in Flushing’s Main Library, At the start… At long last… in the terminus of New York’s A train; Path of Worker Stars in downtown New Haven, Take a break…Out to lunch… Back to work… for the Department of Labor and Training in Rhode Island; … 所以 … at Hong Kong Design Institute: Step(pe) in downtown Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Sheila’ work is in the special collections of libraries and museums among them the Umea Museum, Sweden, Victoria and Albert Museum, London and Centre Pompidou, Paris. Her work is currently and frequently exhibited in museums such as the California: Designing Freedom, and Graphic Design in America and Hippie Modernism: The Search for Utopia at the Walker Museum, Now Dig This! Art and Black Los Angeles 1960-1980 at the Hammer Museum and MOMA NY, WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution at Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and P.S. 1 in New York, and Nasty Women at the New Haven Institute Library.

Sheila was designated a Distinguished Alumna by Barnard College where she received her BA degree in the History of Art, Design Legend by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, awarded honorary doctorates from five American Universities of Art and Design on both coats of the United States and given a Lifetime Achievement award from the Women’s Caucus for the Arts.

 

唐海龍 (Alonzo Emery)

Alonzo Emery is the Associate Director of East Asian Legal Studies (EALS) at Harvard Law School where he teaches and designs programs linking the law school to institutions and individuals in East Asia. Prior to joining EALS, Alonzo taught in Harvard Law School’s Negotiation Workshop and served as a Clinical Instructor in the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program.

Alonzo has taught at Renmin University of China Law School in Beijing, where he was as an Assistant Professor of Comparative Jurisprudence and helped launch the Renmin University Disability Law Clinic, China’s first law school clinic dedicated principally to disability. Through his consulting work in the United States and China, Alonzo has trained hundreds of corporate executives, civil society leaders, government officials, jurists and educators in negotiation and conflict resolution strategies. In 2014, the National Committee on US-China Relations named Alonzo to its public intellectuals program.

Alonzo earned his JD from Harvard Law School and his BA from Yale University. He has also studied at Peking University, Tsinghua University, Taiwan University and the University of Cape Town. Alonzo was a Yale-China Teaching Fellow in Ningbo from 2002 to 2003.

 

Carolyn Greene
Director of Influenza Program, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Beijing, China

In September 2014, Dr. Carolyn Greene joined the U.S. CDC China Office as Director of the Influenza Program. Prior to moving to Beijing, Dr. Greene served as Deputy Commissioner for the Division of Epidemiology in New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and as medical epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, first in the Respiratory Diseases Branch and then within the Global AIDS Program in Ethiopia.

Dr. Greene completed internal medicine residency at University of California at San Francisco, medical school at Brown University and undergraduate studies at Yale University. From 1990-1992, Dr. Greene taught English at Huazhong Normal University in Wuhan with the Yale-China Association.

Currently, the US CDC influenza team in Beijing works closely with China CDC and other local partners to enhance prevention, detection and control of seasonal and novel influenza viruses in China. One priority is collecting local influenza disease burden and vaccine effectiveness data to promote seasonal influenza vaccination among young children, older adults, pregnant women and healthcare workers.

 

Brian Gu Chairman, Asia Pacific Investment Banking, JP Morgan

Dr. Brian Gu is currently the Chairman of Asia Pacific Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan, overseeing the bank’s investment banking business in the emerging Asia, Japan and Australia.

Prior to his current role, Brian was the Co-head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Technology, Media and Telecom, Healthcare, and Financial Sponsor businesses for J.P. Morgan in Asia Pacific. Brian was Co-head and Vice-chairman of Investment Banking for China between 2010 and 2014, providing IB coverage for corporate clients in China on offshore listing, ECM & DCM, restructuring and M&As. Brian has advised on over dozens of high-profile capital raising, strategic partnership and corporate restructuring deals. During his leadership, JP Morgan’s China IB team has been named Best Foreign Bank in China and Best M&A House by leading industry publications such as The Asset Magazine and EUROMONEY.

Brian joined J.P. Morgan in April 2004 and is based in JPM’s Hong Kong office. He was named Managing Director of the bank in April 2007. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Brian was a member of the Global M&A Group at Lehman Brothers in New York for over 5 years with a focus on healthcare. He led a large number of cross-border transactions with industry leading companies in North America, Europe and Asia.

Prior to his investment banking career, Brian was a senior research scientist at the University of Washington Medical School. He holds an MBA from Yale University, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Washington Medical School, and a BA in Chemistry from the University of Oregon.

 

Mary Hu

Mary Hu joined the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) administration in 2000 as Director of Strategic Planning and Marketing for the Yale Medical Group. In 2004, she took on the responsibility of directing school-wide communications, including print and online publications, and managing the Yale School of Medicine brand.

Mary serves as liaison between the Dean’s Office and relevant university and hospital offices, including the Yale University Office of the Secretary, Office of Public Affairs and Communications, Office of Development, Alumni Affairs, Yale Medicine, Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale New Haven Health System.

 

Joanne Iennaco

文直良(Peter Man)
香港中文大学新亚书院前秘书,现居澳洲 full bio >
文直良(Peter Man)博士曾任香港中文大学新亚书院秘书,退休后居住于香港与澳洲悉尼两地。他在香港中文大学获得心理学本科学位,随后在俄勒冈的波特兰州立大学专攻城市研究,取得博士学位。从1979年起他在香港中文大学执教,被分至新亚书院,从此开始与雅礼协会的接触。之后他被选为新亚学者(Fellow of New Asia),参与书院的各种委员会,并与雅礼协会历任香港办公室主任联系工作。他担任新亚书院通识教育委员会主任若干年,由此结识了当时一批每年教两门通识教育课程的雅礼教员。1993年他被任命为新亚书院秘书,更扩大了与雅礼协会的工作交流,包括新亚-雅礼的本科生交流活动(YUNA)。2009年他荣获雅礼荣誉奖。

 

R. Drake Pike

Drake Pike was a Yale-China Teaching Fellow in Hong Kong 1974-76 and previously served two terms as a Yale-China Trustee. For some 30 years up to his retirement in 2014, Drake was an Asia banker in New York, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Beijing.

From 2007 to 2014 Drake was Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, acting first as Goldman’s Senior Risk Advisor to the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, then as Chief Representative of the Goldman Sachs International Bank Representative Office in Beijing. Prior to that, Drake was Head of Asia Credit Risk Management at Lehman Brothers, and held similar positions at Tokai Asia and First Chicago Bank. He started his banking career in 1982 in the China division of Chase Manhattan Bank, helping American companies make some of their first investments in China.

Drake graduated from Yale in 1974 with a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature and, in 1981, received a Master of Public Affairs degree from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School. He now splits his time between San Francisco and Beijing, where he is vestry member/treasurer of St Francis’ Episcopal Church and independent director/chair of the audit committee of China Life Insurance Company Ltd.

 

Stephen Roach

Roach先生目前的教学研究重点为亚洲对全球经济的影响。他为耶鲁的本科生和研究生开设了“下一个中国”、“日本的教训”等新课。他的写作与研究内容包括全球化、贸易政策、后危机政策建构、资本市场显示的全球经济失衡等。

Stephen Roach长期以来是华尔街最有影响力的经济学家之一,他的文章不仅见于学术期刊、书籍和国会证词,并被国内外媒体广泛引用。他的全球经济理论直接影响了从北京到华盛顿的中美政府的政策讨论。

Richard Skolnik

Richard has more than 40 years of experience in development and global health work. He spent 25 years at the World Bank, retiring as the Director for Health and Education for the South Asia Region. At the World Bank, Richard worked on education in West Africa. He also worked on health in the Middle East and North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, West Africa, and South Asia. At the World Bank, Richard’s health work focused on health systems financing and development, improving equity, maternal and child health, and the control of communicable diseases.

After leaving the World Bank, Richard was the Vice President for International Programs at PRB and the Director of the Center for Global Health at The George Washington University, where he taught undergraduate global health courses for 9 years. Richard also served as the Executive Director of the Harvard PEPFAR program for AIDS treatment in Botswana, Nigeria, and Tanzania.

In addition, Richard served on the Technical Review Panel of the Global Fund and a number of WHO Advisory and Working Groups. He was also deeply involved in the establishment of STOP TB. More recently, Richard focused his efforts outside of teaching on reviews of the financing of HIV in India, Cambodia, and Nigeria, working with the Results for Development Institute. In addition, he served on the editorial advisory body for the Third Edition of Disease Control Priorities in the Developing World (DCP3) and the third edition of Millions Saved.

From 2011 to 2016, Richard taught global health courses in Yale College, the Yale School of Public Health and the Yale School of Management.

Richard received a BA from Yale University and an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University. Richard is the author of the widely used textbook, Global Health 101. Richard is also the instructor for the Yale/Coursera course Essentials of Global Health.

 

Peter Stein

Peter Stein是瑞士银行亚太区负责政府事务的集团主席。2011年8月之前,他担任华尔街日报香港部主管及亚洲区副主编。从1998年到2011年,他担任亚洲日报的执行主编。Stein先生是驻香港的资深记者,在1994年到1998年间,他带领一组记者报道了香港政权从英国移交到中国政府的过程。

John Tang represents companies, directors, and officers in shareholder litigation, SEC enforcement matters, and internal investigations. He also counsels clients regarding corporate governance and D&O insurance. He has advised numerous audit committees and independent directors, and conducted over twenty internal investigations concerning a range of issues, including accounting, internal controls, insider trading, and FCPA compliance. John’s experience also includes matters involving Chinese companies and China-based operations of multinational corporations.

John was previously based in Silicon Valley and was co-chair of the securities litigation group at Latham & Watkins, where he also served as global chair of recruiting.

John is a frequent speaker on a variety of securities litigation and enforcement topics. He is also a former board president of the Asian Law Alliance, a San Jose-based nonprofit organization that provides legal services, community education, and advocacy programs to the Asian Pacific Islander community.

 

Qinan Tang

Bill Tsai is a Partner and Head of China and Business Development for Central Asset Investments (“CAI”), a Hong Kong based global investment firm. Founded in 2005, CAI capitalizes on the firm’s Asian investment background and strength in equities, fixed income and quantitative strategies in order to provide investors with long term, superior absolute returns. The CAI team consists of professionals in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen, working across portfolio management, research, risk management, investor relations and operations. CAI currently offers investment products for international investors as well as local Chinese investors. The CAI Global Fund was ranked the best performing multi-strategy hedge fund globally by 5-year total returns as of January 31, 2012, according to Bloomberg’s global hedge fund database. The fund was also voted “Best Multi-strategy Hedge Fund” in 2011, “Best Hedge Fund Asia-Pacific” in 2010 and “Best Hedge Fund Asia (Ex-Japan)” in 2008 by Asian Investor.

Prior to CAI, Bill was the founder and managing partner of Longridge Capital Advisor, a real estate investment company in the Greater China region. Before Longridge, Bill also worked at HypoVereinsbank (New York), Schroders (Hong Kong) and Bankers Trust (New York, Hong Kong) in structured finance and derivative trading.

Currently Bill resides with his family in Guangzhou China and is active in the alternative investment industry as well as cross strait financial professional community. Bill is a Vice President of the newly formed Yale Club of Southern China and actively involves in numerous Yale alumni activities as well as advising current Yale students on career development and sharing insights on the financial industry. Bill holds a master’s degree in Public and Private Management from the School of Management of Yale University.

周星光(Gary Zhou)医学博士是耶鲁医学院麻醉学副教授,曾任耶鲁-纽黑文医院Temple医务中心医务主任、麻醉科主任及医务顾问委员会主任。他先在湘雅医学院学医,随后进入上海医学院学习生物化学与分子生物学。1989年他来到美国,在南卡医科大学从事研究工作。1999年,他在耶鲁完成住院医师培训,此后八年先后在罗德岛与康州的私人诊所工作。从2004年到他获得耶鲁教职的2008年,他担任康州中部医疗中心(MidState Medical Center in Connecticut)麻醉科主席与主任,兼任提高术后医疗项目联合主任。周医生是注册主治麻醉师,并是非住院手术麻醉专家。他在学术与私人方面多次倡导保障病人安全的措施,并常年在中国推广门诊麻醉。

Michael Lim is an MBA candidate at the Yale School of Management.

In 2010, Michael graduated Top of Class in the Economics Department at Claremont McKenna College before being hired as an analyst at Morgan Keegan. There, he compiled a database of non-profit hospitals to assist new businesses' development.

By 2015, Michael had worked as both a senior analyst at Centerview Partners and a manager at Hewlett-Packard. During this time, he invested, acquired, transferred, or combined at least $85 billion by working closely with clients, advisors, and fellow analysts.

During his time at Hewlett-Packard, Michael co-founded an Alumni Association in Northern California for the Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. He worked to connect over 2,500 alumni in the area, implement various processes, and set goals for the school administration.

 

Xiaoyu Zhu

Xiaoyu Zhu is currently a second-year MBA student at Yale School of Management. Mr. Zhu is studying finance and investment management as well as the relationship between business and politics. During the past summer, he worked for a Hong Kong-based hedge fund.

Mr. Zhu was Director of the China Practice for ACG Analytics, a Washington-based independent investment research firm that advises its clients on how anticipated policy actions will impact their portfolios. In his capacity, Mr. Zhu spearheaded a weekly series of research notes entitled “China Insight.” His research focused on the intersection of China’s economic policy and American investors’ interests, including China’s macroeconomic and monetary policy, financial services regulation, real estate, local government debt, and shadow banking sector, as well as Chinese domestic politics and its implications for the U.S. He also regularly contributed to the firm’s energy policy and Latin American researches.

Mr. Zhu received dual bachelor’s degrees in international studies and psychology from China’s Peking University. He then attended the Elliott School of International Affairs in the George Washington University and earned his master’s degree in international affairs with concentrations in international development and Asian studies. He was also a founding member of the Peking University – Yale University Joint Undergraduate Program in Beijing.

Mr. Zhu’s analysis has been cited in both Chinese and English media, including Forbes and Securities Market Weekly.
