Spend a Year in China with the Yale-China Medical English Fellowship
Yale-China Medical English Fellowship

This exceptional opportunity for personal, intellectual, and professional discovery is open to medical students who are finishing their clinical year in June 2010 and who are interested in spending a funded "5th year" in China. Medical residents or graduate students with a background in public health or medical science are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Yale-China Fellows spend one year teaching English at Central South University’s Xiangya School of Medicine, one of China's top medical schools. They also conduct research with medical school professors, engage in clinical experiences, study Chinese, and receive on-going professional support throughout their experience.

Fellows receive a salary from their host school, a U.S. dollar stipend from Yale-China, free housing, medical insurance, Chinese instruction, and transportation to and from the United States at the beginning and at the conclusion of their fellowship, as well as a mid-year travel stipend to return to the U.S. for residency interviews. For 2010-11, two Fellows will be selected.
