Chia Community Program

About the Program

The Chia Community Program builds upon Chia Fellowship recipients' interests to develop projects that directly address local health needs in Hunan province. The Chia Fellows assume leadership roles and organize other volunteers to work together and serve the underprivileged. The Community Outreach Program strives to promote the general health of disadvantaged populations in Hunan, promote community service and volunteerism through activities that address the health needs of community members, and further develop the capacity of individuals involved in the program.

Current Projects

Two projects are currently supported by the Chia Community Program. They are:
- Psychological prevention and intervention on domestic violence in Yunnan
- Improve nutrition status of left behind elderly in Hunan rural areas
