Reports from Fellows

Read about the experiences of Yale-China Fellows - both the Yale (English) Fellows and the Chinese (Mandarin) Fellows - on our fellowship reports page.

Experience Lunarfest

One of the responsibilities of Fellows is to share Chinese cultural experiences with their host communities. In New Haven, Fellows volunteer at Lunarfest, Yale-China's celebration of the Chinese New Year. Program Objectives

The following overarching goals guide the task assignments and support structure of this fellowship program.

  • Create circumstances and provide support for Fellows to build trust and mutual understanding with Americans in their host communities.
  • Give Fellows the freedom and agency to grow socially, intellectually, and professionally while gaining nuanced insight into
    American culture.
  • Provide American communities with opportunities to learn about Chinese language and culture from Chinese Fellows.
